Buenos Aires, December 25 (NA) — Argentine oil entrepreneur Alejandro Bulgheroni has been appointed Honorary President of the China-Argentina Exchange Center at the University of International Business and Economics (UIBE) in Beijing.

Bulgheroni received the appointment from UIBE Rector Zhao Zhongxiu, who stated that he expects the executive to "fully leverage his influence in the realms of international industry and public affairs to contribute to the university achieving new advancements" in Sino-Argentine interactions.

According to a report accessed by the Argentine News Agency from the site dangdai, the entrepreneur comes from the family that founded the Argentine oil company Bridas.

Consolidation of an International Relationship

The relationship of the Bulgheroni brothers (Carlos and Alejandro) with China was solidified through energy business, notably highlighted by the 2010 strategic alliance with the Chinese state-owned oil company CNOOC in the family-owned Bridas (50% each, for which the Chinese company paid $3.1 billion) and the subsequent merger with the British BP (which acquired 60% of the total) to form Pan American Energy Group (PAE).

This created the second-largest energy giant in Argentina, with significant Chinese participation, the Argentine site highlights, noting that this information was also featured in Asian media, such as Weixin.

The entrepreneur explained during the ceremony, which was also attended by the director of the Argentine center at UIBE, Diego Mazzoccone, that PAE maintains a "long-term, high-quality cooperative relationship with Chinese companies in multiple business areas".
